trying to make a decision about which of these schools to attend; accepted in Madison campus of Wisco and main campus of Penn State, living in NJ and tuition price not a concern. I want a school with good school spirit and sports I can cheer on while also academically rigorous. Any insight on any of these schools would be much appreciated. Thank you!
Sounds exactly like Penn State. Can’t speak for any of the other schools, though.
Wisconsin all the way! Badgers have great school spirit. If you also like to participate in outdoor sports, we have Hoofers club. You can try sailing, windsurfing, horseback riding and other outdoor sports.
The academic programs are also very rigorous. I graduated with a degree in nursing and zoology. The new business school is also a draw for anyone interested in that discipline.
Camp Randall is one of the best places for attending a football game. The Kohl center is also great for watching Hockey and basketball. Badger fans “travel well” and I have run into Badger fans and alums all over the US and abroad. Nothing beats the “jump around.”
The town of Madison is a great college town. Also the Memorial Union on lake Medota is the best place for people watching and Babcock ice cream. The university has it’s own dairy and supplies ice cream and other dairy products to the university dorms and food service departments.
I’m disappointed that my daughter got accepted to UW but decided to attend a women’s LAC.
All three are really good. Did you get into the honors college at any of those ? What would you like to major in ? Any preference in weather ? Want to work on the East coast/come home for breaks/ go to Philly or NYC ? Or want to work in upper Midwest, discover new part of country and new culture, looking forward to Green Bay packers, Chicago, umn-tc ?
