At least a ranking that some actual people follow.

Again, interesting but old news. And I have a hunch that most American high schools students don’t care much about where their school’s “repuation” ranks as compared to Imperial College, London. Rather, especially in this day and age, they care more about the kind of things that Forbes says it is focused on:

“Unlike other lists, we pointedly ignore ephemeral measures such as school ‘reputation’ and ill-conceived metrics that reward wasteful spending. We try and evaluate the college purchase as a consumer would: Is it worth spending as much as a quarter of a million dollars for this degree?”

We’ve been through this before, barrons: in your view, the only good and authoritative rankings are the ones that rank UW highly. Not everybody sees it that way.

(Oh, and I might add that with Forbes’ website already having over 122,000 views it does appear that at least somebody is paying attention to them.)

i hope you can make some constructive comments on UVA’s board instead of trashing UW over and over again. Not gonna start a debate on the same topics with you. BUT if I were your child I would be embarrassed. Why do my parents spend endless amount of time talking about others in lieu of doing something meaningful? If I were YOU, I would spend some time to think about our economy and social problems around us. Get a life :)

Not bad, it can never hurt to be ranked well in a survey of repute even if it isn’t one of the more common ones like USNWR.
