So far miami has offered the most in merit scholarships with ohio state being second. I am still waiting for how much wisconsin will offer. If wisconsin offers significantly less than miami should I reconsider even if wisconsin is in-state and higher regarded?

Don’t look at the scholarships in terms of their amounts, but in terms of:

a. What would the net costs be after applying the scholarships? Also, check to see whether you really can get Ohio residency, since some states make it very difficult to do so.

b. What are the conditions to continue the scholarship for four years of school?

Update
So for ohio state scholarship I must keep a 3.2 gpa. Also I have been accepted into the Honors Program at Ohio State. I am still waiting to hear about scholarships from Madison
I have simplified my decision to between OSU and Wisconsin
Any other opinions or comments to help my decision?

hmm… I agree with most of the posts above that Madison is a great College Town compared to Columbus - a much larger city. In addition, Wisconsin Econ IS higher ranked than TOSU based on USNWR. In fact, it possess 2 more tenure track faculties than TOSU based on the school’s website. Nonetheless, in terms of tuition cost or COA, I believe the two are very similar:

^^ I also saw your post earlier at Ohio State’s board in regards to plan on attending the ‘goBuckeye day’ on April 13th. In short, your question will be resolved after the visit, I promise!

The cities of Madison and Columbus are very different. You have to go to both to see what environment you like better. I’ve been out of school for years, but my D goes to tOSU, and I still prefer the diversity and environment in Columbus, in fact I just moved back to Columbus after 20 years in Chicago.I would imagine with an economics major that your next step is grad school of some sort. OSU would meet the need of getting you there.

No one else can answer these questions for you, since the student makes the school, not the other way around. Spend time on both campuses and you will know.

Not that this is a selling point for college, but Columbus has the best ice cream in the world at Jeni’s!
