With grades like mine, what university should I aim for?

CC Transfer

CUM GPA: 2.97

End of Fall 11'

CUM GPA: 3.12

End of Spring 12'

CUM GPA: 3.22 (81 units)

End of Summer 12'

CUM GPA: 3.25

VP and COO of my business club (A friend and I made the club official. We speak with profs from MIT/STANDFORD/USC + small-time business owners + workshops are being developed - we're launching it this Fall, I am very excited.)

Interning at law office.

I'm thinking of starting a philosophy club at my school too. People need more opportunities and incentives to give thought about life, especially at my school.

100+ volunteer hours at Down Syndrome Info Alliance

100+ volunteer hours at Loaves and Fishes (distributing food for those in need)

50+ volunteer hours at Mercy Hospital

For TAG you need a 3.2 by summer - it's possible, if I try hard and pull 6 A's (3un) and 1 B (4un).

Should I apply as a normal transfer student? I want to go to UCI.

Should I take honors courses? I'm scared of the GPA drop.

Thanks for your time and help ;)

What’s your intended major for UCI?

UCI was very competitive this year, lots of students were rejected. TAG is a must! Make sure you fill out the TAG form by the due date.

Don’t bother with honors, it won’t help much. Just be sure to get over a 3.20

I apologize - I would to like to transfer as Philosophy major.

Also, is there a threshold for the amount of units you can complete? I know UCD’s TAG doesn’t allow students to have more than 80 units. Which sucks because UCD has a really good internship program with the capitol.
