ECs So Far

This Summer:
- intership at Medical University of Ohio (don't ask, I don't even know how I did it with my scientific inefficiency...I am the bane of every science teacher's existence)
- Pre-calc at a college or something

- take college class for math

Senior Year
- Honors Science Rearch: we work with NASA...I AM ONLY DOING THIS CLASS because Hoj, this sweet old lady, teaches it and without me it will die because I'm the tenth person or whatever and i CAN'T SAY NO TO HER because she is the ONLY science teacher at the stupid school who know's what she's doing

also going to sign myself up for the AP Studio Art test myself, might as well..., will do tennis again, and NAHS Secretary, and on Class Council (swtiching from Student Council because of the evil people there)

Brown and RISD are my dreams, with Tufts and Yale...but they are dreams...my family wants me to go stay in Toledo BUT I WILL DIE if that happens...I just couldn't get over how wonderful the people were at those places. Columbus College of Art and Design was so snotty and rude, and OSU was so impersonal--I felt like a number and I wasn't even a student!

Don't be so melodramatic (title). Haha. If you thought you had absolutely no chance, you wouldn't bother posting a chances thread, right? :)

I see some delightful things in your EC's, such as "art studio for 8 years." Highlight things you have been committed to for a long and/or have a strong passion for.

It's a reach, but, it's YALE! Apply. You have nothing to lose if you’re adamant about receiving a rejection letter ;)

(I know you mentioned other schools. I just commented on one that seemed to really interest you).

did u take any math classes?

SATs? 10char

Haha you might as well try!

Bowling Green and Art Institute of Cleveland both have strong art programs and are in Ohio.

My advice: LEAVE OHIO for art! You'll get stuck teaching high school art, seriously. Art takes as much networking as anything else and Ohio Schools are ver limited in this respect. I have a very talented friend who got a full ride to OSU GRADUATE Art school and he's really struggling in NYC because the network is so weak. He wishes he could have gone back in time, taken out loans, and attended a top school like Yale or Cal Arts. Its night and day.

AMEN. oh gosh, i wish you could talk to my parents...they want me to go to UT (University of Toledo), and I realize it's making great jumps with the Toledo Museum of Art, but it's just not fast enough for me and I CANNOT stay in Toledo!

...math...eh...i'm about as incompetent in math as i am in science. Totally forgot to post them actually. Frenshman year: C/B Sophmore: D--A+ (haha, the teacher couldn't teach and got replaced), this year A...but will be a B for the final quarter...ack....

yeah, i guess i'm looking for some uplift...hence the post :) Hey, everyone needs comfort every now and then....:D

Where the heck are your math classes?

see my last post ::points:: all integrated (we have so many levels of math at my school, like five, integrated is split into honors level integrated, accelerated integrated, and basic integrated...and that's just the integrated level). im in accel. integrated. this year is Integrated III; i'll be taking honors pre-calc over the summer.
