Why is being an Indian male trying to get into a high end US school, so difficult !

It is irritating to hear people mock your chances as soon as they hear u are an Indian( I know as I have been through the same!!!)
What is the secret to success for me..us??
Any ideas, guys???

Hmm… May be it’s because most of the students who apply as US permanent citizens are also from India and China. They consider “diversity” as an important element in making up a class. So, that’s why they take more international students from countries other than India and China.

^Seconded. There’s more of you i.e. more supply, so your “price” (which is your perceived value to the institution) falls down a cliff. Your individual merits no longer matter. If you’ve done perfectly competitive markets in economics, you will see what I mean. And it’s not just students from India. Everything, all the way from Indian workers to Indian airlines are facing the same problem. In fact, it’s my view that the Chinese have it better than us in some ways. I think about thrice the number of Chinese students get into MIT each year over Indians, and I doubt that their applicant pool is thrice as big.

Well, I can up my net worth, but can’t do such a thing for my country, right<if i="" did="" be="" sitting="" at="" some="" dream="" university="" today=""></if>
