Withdraw sir help

Simple question:how do I withdraw my SIR?

I emailed the nice people at UCLA:
to: newbruins@saonet.ucla.edu

NAME
UCLA ID

To whom it may concern,
I would like to extend my extreme gratitude for the opportunity
to attend the University of California, Los Angeles.
It was a great honor for me to be accepted into the school. I had
submitted my SIR to UCLA a few days ago and
became extremely excited to attend. However, recent events have forced
me to attend school much closer to home
than I would like. As such, I can no longer attend UCLA in the fall. I
would like to formally withdraw my SIR from
UCLA effective on the date I sent this email (5/31/2010). I realize
that I am loosing my $100 deposit, as well as the
housing deposit for doing this. I thank your kind consideration on this matter.

Regards,
NAME

yeah...is this fine? or do I have to follow up with a call tomorrow?
Im also SIRing to Cal today.

Trust me, don’t do it. You will strongly regret this decision in a year.

i found this demo SIR
that shows the option to withdraw your SIR…did you do that already plus your email?

it has my husbands name is on it…John Joseph Doe…lol…
my middle name is Mary.

[Statement of Intent to Register](http://ursa.studentaffairs.ucla.edu/demo/sir/SIR.htm)

my ursa no longer looks like that

Anonymous,

I know you really hate Cal, but those of us who are transferring there aren’t appreciative of your anecdotal stories of why you hate Cal so much. To be honest, reading through your previous posts, it sounds like you simply won’t give yourself the chance to enjoy your time at Cal. You complain about things that are common at all universities. It sounds like you made a few bad friends or are homesick or something. But for those of us who are excited about going to Cal and who are going to Cal with our minds made up that we’re going to ENJOY our time… Your posts really don’t help and they just kinda ruin the mood…

One of the posters in your thread “Top Ten Reasons WHY You HATE Cal” summed it up best:

SFWarrior, you should also call just to be safe. But there is no way they’re going to rescind you for submitting two SIRs. They only submit people who do that with certain strategic intentions and not people who have honestly changed their minds and have already contacted the other school to cancel the SIR. :)

^^Mikei thanks for the reply man. You definitely have put me at ease. See you at cal :)

SFwarrior25, that email will suffice. SIR’s are non-binding and simply hold your spot until you officially register.

**Should have revised “loosing” to “losing” in your letter, but I’m sure they’ll get the message…

Didn’t you have like a million reasons to pick UCLA over Cal? What happened here?

I read your email and I just have to tell you that is the most polite email I have ever read! ! !

You can’t go wrong w/ either decision.

Good luck to you!

Wow what an idiot. Good luck finding a job with your useless degree from Cal.

^ wow, why do you hate Cal so much??

anonymous is a premed student at Cal. Enough said. lol.

@anonymous…actually I already have an ibanking job in Singapore lined up for me thanks to my dad’s connections. They wouldn’t entertain anyone that wasnt from HYSPCB.

“useless degree from Cal”

Oh yeah, that definitely helps your credibility. lol Sorry you (obviously) had an awful time at Cal… But unless you change your attitude/approach, you’re probably going to have an awful time anywhere.

the email did it. I am officially withdrawn from UCLA. strange…I feel excited to attend Cal.

What makes anonymous think he/she would have been happier at UCLA or any other school? That’s dumb, maybe it’s just the premed that you hate. And everyone I know who goes to Cal loves it.
