So - I'm going to community college. But I was also accepted by CSU Long Beach. Even though I'm going to community college, I still sort of want to accept CSU just in case a few weeks later I decide I don't want to go. Like a back-up plan. But - if I end up not deciding not going, would it mar my record with a withdrawal of the school? I'm planning to transfer in two years to UCI from community college - would it completely look bad on me that I withdrew from a CSU? Or are there no consequences to face? Just...money given for no good reason. I know there's no refund with accepting - but I'm willing to take that chance.

You can send in your SIR, and then later withdraw the SIR before the deadline. They don’t care. They get to keep the money you send in with the SIR. I’m pretty sure it won’t end up on any record whatsoever. Just make sure you do it before the last day they allow you to withdraw the SIR.

Okay - so just to clarify: when withdrawing, it won’t affect my transferring? UCs (which is my goal, in particular UCI) won’t be all “oh. she already attended a four-year” and right-out reject me?

I’m a paranoid little thing. cough
