Withdrawing app, please respond!

hey guys, so for yale i already turned in my supplement. but i haven't paid or submitted commonapp. i recently got into stanford early, and that's my first choice school. will it automatically withdraw my yale app if i don't finish? or do i have to send an email/letter to them asking to withdraw my app? if the latter, how do i go about doing this?

Congrats. The Palo Alto weather def > New Haven. Just shoot Yale admissions an email with your intent. THat’s all.

You got into Stanford. You should be able to figure this out.

Congratulations!

Congratulations. If you never completed the application you may not need to do anything but it is courteous to send an e-mail to admissions. One of my successful Yale SCEA contacts declined an interview and withdrew a completed Harvard application a couple of years ago. I don’t know what Yale’s policy is when they receive a withdrawal request but Harvard turned around in April and sent a letter of rejection which was quite inappropriate. You would think that admissions there would have more flexibility than feeling forced to send an acceptance or rejection to anyone who ever submitted an application. Good luck in Palo Alto.

When my son got into Yale SCEA a few years ago, he withdrew his other applications, including Harvard, and none of them sent him a rejection, so perhaps the one YaleGradandDad mentions was a glitch–let’s hope so.
