Hi, I'm a sophomore at Edinboro University of PA and I absolutely hate it. I went through the same thing last year but I was able to convince myself to give it another go but now that I'm here again things are still miserable. I want to withdraw from my current University and transfer to one closer to home. I've emailed the University I want to transfer to but they haven't responded yet so I'm unsure of what to do. I want out of here as soon as possible but my family has put up a road block. My grandmother says that if I drop out of Edinboro that I won't be able to get any more student loans for other Universities, is she right? Also, I tried to apply as a transfer student last year and have my transcript sent to the other school but according to their online application the transcript was never recieved so it seems like my current school is messing up on purpose, though I doubt that is the case. I just really need some advice and I feel even more trapped up here because of this.

You can just finished up your sophomore year however during that time you can applys to other colleges for transfering. I don't think it's necessary to withdraw from your current university. Plus, it's not that you got drop off, it's just that you volunteer to withdraw from college, so I don't think that will hurt your student loans as long you continue your education.
