Withdrawing and Transferring

So I've been looking for an answer, but all I can seem to find is information about withdrawing from select courses. I'm a second semester freshman, technically a sophomore due to my high school credits, and I've been struggling massively with living at my college three hours away from home. Not only am I depressed (diagnosed and taking medication) but I'm having problems socially. Academically my standings are fine, but the courses at my school currently are all repeats of ones I took in high school that I'm being forced to take in order to got my gen ed requirements out of the way. I have applied to transfer to a school closer to home because the program I am interested in studying (Education) is much stronger than the one at my current school. At this point, I've become so depressed and anxious and generally upset by being at this school that I have been considering dropping out and working over the summer to simply start fresh at my new school without having to be around my current one. I have yet to talk to my parents about this, I plan to present the idea tonight seeing as I do have a part time job that would hopefully be willing to take me on as full time, but my main concern is whether or not dropping out half way through the semester would totally screw over my transfer. I haven't been accepted yet, but even if I am in the next week, could the college revoke my acceptance because of my withdrawing from my current school? I'm so unhappy here that I can't bare to go on another 80 days here. Any help at all would be appreciated.

Yes, colleges can revoke your acceptance. Acceptances are always provisional upon you completing the coursework you listed on your application in a satisfactory manner. The definition of satisfactory varies somewhat between schools.

Pick up the phone today, call the school, tell them your situation and ask what taking Ws (assuming it’s to late to drop w/o a W) for all your current classes will mean to your transfer admission.

Thank you; I’ll call tonight and see what they say about Ws.
