Ok so I am a freshman at an OOS liberal arts college several hundred miles away from home. This is my first semester ever in college. Recently, I decided that it would be best for me to transfer back to one of my state schools, considering it's less than half the cost. I do really like the school I am at, but don't love it and don't really feel "at-home". I feel that it is not prestigious/interesting enough to pay this absurd amount of money to attend, just kind of a mid-tier college. So I applied to one of my state schools for transfer into spring 2015 semester and got a letter back saying I am not admissible based on my high school grades and SATs and I need to send official college transcript at the end of the semester. Funny thing is, I was accepted as a freshman for FALL 2014 semester. Currently, I have 15 credits in progress and have a 4.0 midterm. I am doing very well and expect this trend to continue. But, the university will not accept my midterm grades or current courses in progress.

So what should I do if I don't get into my university back home? It is also a mid-tier university, but am doing it for the cost and proximity to home. Also, the money is not a HUGE problem. I have the funds to study and continue here, but the thing is I am pursuing medical school which is very costly so I am trying to save and get in as little debt as possible. Should I continue here and stick it out until the end of the year? If I did that, I could then re-apply to my other state school that's very prestigious and most likely get an acceptance if I have 3.5 GPA or above. If not, the only other option is another Uni that's a couple hours away from my current college. It's much larger and maybe 5000-10000 cheaper. I would also have a great chance at a scholarship.

Opinions?
