I withdrew from a college earlier in August. I was enrolled full-time, but since I was only there a week, needless to say I earned no credits. Now I'm about to start filling out applications again.

The stickied thread wasn't clear enough to me, so I apologize if this question seems too obvious for some. When I'm filling out these applications, do I apply as a Transfer because I was once at another school, or a freshman because I have no credits or real experience in college? Need I even mention the previous school?

I feel like listing such a short attendence could be harmful on applications, especially since I'm already taking a little time off to get things together. However, if the schools feel that it really counts for something, I don't want to be dishonest with them.

I would guess, and it is just a guess, that you would apply as a freshman in this case (if I understand you correctly that you showed up on campus for one week and then withdrew from your freshman year).

I would suggest that you check the Admissions website(s) of the college(s) that interest you and see if they address your particular situation. Many are very specific about how they distinguish freshman from transfer applicants. If it is not clear, I would call one of them (which you can do anonymously, if you like).

If you want to post more specifics about where you'd like to apply, why you withdrew, we might have better insights.

I'm fairly sure that you wouldn't be a transfer student since you didn't earn any credits, but to be sure, check with the schools you're considering. You could always ask the question anonymously.
