withholding information

Hi, my name is Amitoj S. Chopra and I am new to this. My situation goes something like this, I went to UCSC for a year and a quarter. I failed my last 3 classes at UCSC. Then I went on to a community college and finished all my GEs and my major requirements for economics. After doing all of this, I want to transfer to Davis in the winter. The problem is that I have too many units. Is it possible not to transfer any of my UCSC units, I mean not even put it on my application. Because I have all the classes I need to transfer from the CC im attending. Also it would help in that I would not have to disclose all the failing grades I received at UCSC because I have a 2.4 gpa there while I have a 3.3 at my CC. Is that a good game plan?

Good game plan? Dude I don't want to be rude, but that is a horrible idea. First of all, it's dishonest...second..it won't work and trust me, UCD will find out, especially since you were already in the UC system. Since UCD has a transfer agreement, have you tried going into the counselour & seeing how that works since you already have UC units? That's much better than lying on an application.

seriously thats a unintelligible idea. You must disclose all grades at all instituitons attended when transferring. You are better off writing an addendum to explain your self instead of commiting application fraud.
good luck to you

They won't give you credit for everything. I did Davis for a year, CC for two, and now I'm going to UCLA. There, all transfers get cut down to 105. I can't drop the Davis units, so I lose like, 50 CC units. I get credit for the classes, just not against my unit limits.

Don't stress it. Also, why'd you put your whole name there? Yay internet anonymity.

Yeah, I agree with the other posters. that is a really dumb idea because they will eventually find out and then terminate your enrollement (if you get in). Plus it might leave a stigma within the uc systerm if you would plan on applying to another UC. Why not just address the reasons why you did bad at UCSC in your personal statement? That way they can see how much you have changed for the better.

how did UCSC even accept such an idiot in the first place?

You make UCSC students look stupid (which is quite an accomplishment given the fact that they're all lazy stoners to begin with)

You must always include all colleges/universities you have attended in your applicaitons, even if only for one course. And whether or not the grades were good.

Withholding information about your academic history is not an option.

What makes me scratch my head is, why would you put your full name on this site if you are considering being dishonest on your uc application?

Anyway, like everyone else said, it's a bad idea. Just be honest on the application and hope for the best.

i doubt thats the real name. the OP proves to be a liar ;)

plus isn't the OP technically in poor academic standing with the UC' system because of his last classes taken at UCSC?

I don't know if it's his real name, but he does have a facebook account
