Vanderbilt, Miami Oxford, Purdue, UIUC, University of Kentucky, University of Tennessee

bleh...Miami of Ohio. I've heard too many bad things.

It's about 7 hours away, but Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA sounds like it would be a good fit for you.

W&L? you think I could get in?

I was looking at W&L and it has great ratings and all, but then I got to the part about uber-rich white kids and although I guess I'd be placed in bottom end of that category, thats not exactly who I want to go to college with. Plus, I'm a democrat, and according to princetonreview I'd be one of few at W&L. I'm an atypical southerner, although I have a slight accent, and am a white male, I'm also a liberal, and I think that might set me at odds with alot of students at W&L.

If you are lucky, one or more of the schools you are applying to will not put your freshman year into their GPA calculation. Check the websites. Also check into Rhodes College (Memphis) if it's within your geographical range.

that would be AWESOME. My GPA would be like 3.4 UW!
