A gain of 140 points in two days? +50 from the CR, +70 from writing (although I usually score high 500s) and +10 from math

I just scored a 1740 on my practice exam, but the other three which I took I scored in the 1600s. Is this accurate or were the questions just too easy? P.S. All the tests were from the collegeboard blue book. I think its because the first two practice tests were real SATs from a few months back while the third one was a college board made SAT practice test that never was never administered.

The first three tests are real SATs, so it couldn’t have been that. Perhaps you had oatmeal instead of fruit loops?

lol oh okay fig, unless I already knew the materials. It might have been the environment I was in.

isn’t that 130 points?

my bad it was 130, my addition sucks.

I recently took the third practice test, too.
On the second one, I scored 1650.
On the third one, I scored 1870.

I was surprised at how high my score jumped.
It was probably because I changed my strategy up a bit.
I hope it stays this way, though.

:D

^ What was your change in strategy?

^

Unlike most people on this forum, I do horribly on the vocabulary portion of the critical reading.
I noticed I was spending a lot of time on those and in the end, I still got them wrong.
As a result, I always had to rush through the actual reading questions.
My strategy for the critical reading was to start first with the reading questions and work my way backwards.
This way, I actually spent time carefully answering the reading questions.
It sounds stupid, but it really helps my pacing.
You probably already do superbly on the vocabulary, so you don’t have to worry about that.

math and cr rlly not that big a deal. scores fluctuate- thats the whole concept of a score range. so if get a 670 for example, u can very well get anywhere froma 640 to 720 on ur next one. especailly CR it makes sense. all it takes is a very hard passage (and believe me ive went through that collegeboard book inside and out, some passages and cr tests ARE harder than others) to bring u down significantly. also, check for diff. curves. i knwo CR curve in beignign of book is 20 pnts higher than rest of tests in the imddle and end of book.

the only thing that stands out is the writing.

This is cause to celebrate. Get yourself a banana nut muffin!
