It seems like the 2011 editions removed some words and added others as compared to the 2010 editions.

Yes, this is true.

^Useful post?

In a practical sense they should be releasing a new edition every year to add new words that appeared in that year’s SAT tests.

In a economic sense they should be releasing a new edition every year to generate more dollar$.

I haven’t seen different editions, I only own Volume 1 and Volume 2 from 2010, but I’m sure they only differ by less than 25 words per year.

The 2011 books added over 70 new words. A number of the words are in the definitions and/or the examples so you need go to the index to make sure you learn all of them. They even contain vocabaulary from the June 2010 SAT (which appreared on the October International SAT). In researching books to use for tutoring, I have found that many of the large companies do not seem to add words from recent SATs as often, especailly from nonpublished SATs like June. I have found that DH remains the most efficient use of time in learning vocabulary that will actually appear on the SAT.

AvidStudent,

I wasn’t really sure what the poster was asking. You guys are just making up answers to a question that wasn’t asked.
