So much depends on letters that one gets early. With only common letters in a certain order, too many options remain.

In the spirit of wordle the answer is a 5 letter colloquial word A__LE.
Based upon my initial word attempt being “shale” I got the letters “A-L-E”. My second word “hotel” revealed the letter placement and the letters “H & O”. Solved in three.

It took me six tries to get it today. I had yesterday’s in 2. Luck of the first word. I change up my first word every day, just because. I really enjoy my daily dose of Wordle!

I ended up getting the first, third and fourth letters on my second try. But that just meant so many many options - I got it on my last attempt. The funny thing is that the word has some special significance to my work and was one of the first ones I thought of, but I kept saying “that won’t be the one - let’s try this instead”. Argh.

Was pleased about this today (especially after a fluke of TWO score yesterday). Of course the first word is the crap shoot, that sometimes gets lucky.
