Work Experience Helps Admissions?

Hi there - I have recently become a Certified Nursing Assistant and begun working as a junior in high school. I don't really need the extra income, but I would like the work experience it will give me, especially as I want to go through medical school. However, I am not in love with the job itself, am worried about the job getting in the way of homework, and I am wondering - is such a job is helpful when getting into college? I have a lot of extra-curricular activities and am an A student, and I am planning to apply to Ivy-League-level colleges.

Many of my friends and schoolmates work as well, since I live in the Midwest and it's pretty common for high schoolers to find jobs, but they all work at restaurants and retail stores and other places. My question is - will this help college admissions at all? Thanks!

Colleges’ common data sets should indicate whether work experience is considered in admissions.

I believe it always helps, but the significance that each school places on it will vary. I’d listen to ucbalumnus and look at colleges’ common data set… I would also say though that I think it helps, but it depends on at what cost (As in, stay up on schoolwork haha) As long as you can handle your schoolwork with it, you’re fine.
