is it possible for students to conduct research during work-study? I know that I'll be doing the work-study program in the science labs (idk where specifically yet) and I was wondering if I can do some research while I'm there. If I do, will my research time be counted as my work-study hours?

P.S. for the record, I'm not interested in researching for money

Research won’t be counted as work-study. Work-study really just means work that you do while enrolled at college in order to pay some of the tuition that the university requests you do if you’re in certain financial situations.

There are people who have work study jobs in labs. But it’s not quite the same as doing research, as it tends to be more grunt work than anything else.
