I was given the work study for part of the financial aid package. Where do I go to get a job and can I have more than one work study job?

you can access port triton when school starts or pay to use it early. they can be both on or off campus jobs.
common examples of jobs that work-study recipients have are: bookstore, dining halls/marketplaces, shuttle drivers, mail carriers, etc.
you can have more than one work study job if you are lucky enough to get more than one. keep in mind that not only first years are looking for jobs on campus but second, some third, and even some fourth/fifth years look for jobs on campus. it is convenient for many people to find jobs on campus so the competition is intense.
my tips: be VERY persistent. apply to all of the jobs you are qualified for even if its not your ideal job. and apply to jobs multiple times; don’t be discouraged because they can’t accept you the first time (it might not be because of a lack of qualifications).

if you can’t find a job on campus or would prefer to work for one off campus, talk to counselors at the career services center. with a short application, potentially any job at a non-profit agency off campus can turn into a work-study job (salvation army, goodwill, tutoring services, etc.).
i highly suggest visiting the career services center as soon as you possibly can. they have tons of services to improve your chances of getting a job.
