Working in 2 (different) research labs at once?

Hey so I would really like to work two different research labs at once. One lab is one in which I am quite established and know the PI quite well. The other is a lab in which I would like to go to grad school for (neuroscience). I just finished up my sophomore year of college. I will be working in both labs this summer and would really like to continue working in them during the school year. I only have 3 classes (plus a part time job ~10 hrs per week), so I think that I will be able to split my time between the two labs.

But how do you think grad schools will view working in two labs at once?

You’re going to get a lot more worthwhile experience if you choose a single lab and stick with it. Think about the hours the grad students put in per week in those labs, and then compare how much time you’ll spend in a semester. That should give you an idea of how much you should expect to get done.
