World History Pre-AP vs. World History AP

Hello,
My school offers only World History Pre-AP, but I am still planning on taking the World History AP exam when it comes around. Does anyone who has taken World History Pre-AP/AP know whether or not I would be prepared to take the test, even without intensive self-study? Thanks a lot.

We had both World History Honors and World History AP. Our counselors discouraged us from taking the AP class. I kind of wish I did, though, because the Honors class was more like Pre-AP Euro History and didn't focus on much non-European history at all. I would not have been prepared to take the World History AP test, although I know a couple in my class did.

Thanks, Raindrop.

So do you think I will have to self-study for the World History AP test?

I would ask people at your school what the difference is because I am sure it varies.

At my school AP World History and Pre-Ap are so different. You go more into detail in AP World. Pre-AP we skimmed over the stuff.

My school was Pre AP is basically the first 1/2 of the curriculum, and the AP is 2 weeks of review and the rest of the curriculum. Now my state or district made US history AP into just 1 year, I dont see why.

The best person to talk to is your World History teacher. He/she will know what your course covers versus what you need to know for the AP exam. I've never before heard of taking Pre-AP World History and then taking WHAP - at my school, everyone only takes one year of World History, either at the Regular, Honors or AP level.
