The college I'm aiming for requires me to take World History courses in high school. Unfortunately, the school I go to doesn't offer any history subjects in high school. So, I plan to self-study World History. I'm a junior next year, and an honors student. I know that if I tried I can really excel in this subject.

My background knowledge on World History is relatively weak. I would at least like to get an 800 on SAT II with self-study. I plan to study this summer, from there on out. Is it possible? And it'd be awesome if you could recommend some books! ^.^

You probably can do it. You can self-study basically anything, if you have the drive and motivation for it.
Have you considered possibly also taking the AP exam? I know some CCers have self-studied it before and it would be more of a “class” than the SAT II. If your high school doesn’t offer history classes, then the college might understand in the same way that some colleges accept students based off the situation. Johnny may be brilliant, but may only have taken 5 APs because his school only offers that many.

Self studying any history course is comparatively difficult in my opinion, due to the large amount of information to cover. But if you’re really motivated and are good with history (and are a good test taker), I’m sure you’d be able to get an 800.

is it possible to study for the SAT 2:World History in four months using PR, Barron’s SAT 2, and Barron’s AP World History…and get a score greater than 730???
