Go see it...it's hard to explain. Its just, deep.

I wonder how it ends dot dot dot

I find it a disgrace that not even 5 years later people are trying to make millions of dollars off of thousands of peoples' tragedies.

disgrace, yes, but not at all surprising.

no offense to 9/11 as an event, but i think the movie is going to be
1. not appropriate
2. is just gonna exploit everyones emotions to the tenth power
3. be cheesy...as bad as that sounds

even if they donated the money they made from the movie to the victims, it's still disrespectful to make a film about the tragedy.

I didn't hear this kind of talk about Titanic, Hotel Rwanda, or other such flicks about tragedies. It's a tragedy, yes, but we REALLY need to move on. Why is THIS event so "untouchable" to everyone?

^b/c the sinking of the Titanic happened a billion years ago and wasn't an attack on anyone.

and hotel rwanda was based on events that happened in 1994, 10 years before the movie was made. world trade center is based on events that happened just 5 years ago and events that are presently affecting our country. we're in a retarded war b/c it and the movie was made simply to exploit people emotinal ties to that day. i mean, i assume it doesn't explain events leading up to 9/11 or what happened afterwards. it's just, "oh look lets show how a couple people and their families died or made it through...the end."

I don't see people complaining about the tons of WWII movies and games we have.

^again, it happened 1/2 a century ago

i'm not ridiculously offened about the world trade center, but i understand why people think its too early. and i just don't like what the movie focuses on and why.

it's not that we can't move on, it's that commodifying tragedy for entertainment/monetary gain is morally repugnant. the movie trivializes 9/11.

^exactly.......

Who cares when it happened? It happened. You can't change that.

I don't see how it trivializes the event. Movies about WWII, Titanic, Rwanda, and other tragedies don't seem to trivialize those events.

And, come on, they made a TV MOVIE about this already on NBC. I'd rather the story be on the big screen than while eating a TV dinner.

um...ok?

although i haven't seen the movie, i agree with greendayfan statement that "I wish they could of focused on more than just 2 cops and more of what actually happened." that's my concern. it just seems like the movie uses 9/11 to be more popular and draw people into watching amovie that doesn't show what really happened and just seeks to make poeple sad about 2 guys.

The movie shows more than just those two guys....its more based around the rescue operation and such. haha, a very emotional movie at that....but it was a good one

its def not a disrespectful/disgraceful movie

personally, i thought United 93 was more moving...I liked how they chose no-name actors and placed more emphasis on the actual event.

but it is a little early to be making films about 9/11...and already there's 2 out there.

I guess I just get over stuff fast.

I thought the movie flat out sucked. There were some moments where my eyes got watery but it was it was too typical of Hollywood-ized disaster movies. I would've like a more stories of that day rather then focus on one.

I don't what's wrong with making money off of tragedy. It's called capitalism + free speech.

how many of the people who think it's not too soon or who say "just move on already" were even remotely close to the towers or personally know people who were directly affected by it?
