Worried over college decisions =[

guys I am so worried about college decisions...I mean, I'm going to have to go to a school that I will enjoy for 4 years...

I really really want to go to Stanford or MIT...but it's such a crapshoot =[
also applying to Princeton, Yale, Columbia, etc. etc.

I keep worrying about the small stuff..like my mediocre MIT interview, the short answer supplement questions...and I keep reading my essays over and over again and thinking they suck and don't reveal a lot about me, even though they might =[

wthhhh so stressed. this is so nerve-racking. find out Early decisions on the 15th for MIT
wthhhhfffffff I'm gonna get rejected by all my colleges. go to a community college.

can someone give me some advice? I've done all that I can, I don't know how else to show colleges my personality, my character, how badly I want to get accepted. =[

You should have applied to schools in England. So much easier.

Anyway, don’t freak. But do be reasonable, don’t just apply to HYPSMC (the C here being Columbia, not Caltech). You need some matches, some safeties.

If you can apply to so many top schools, you can apply to state schools as safeties. Don’t apply to only these prestigious schools. And even if you go to community college? so what, I know people that went to cc, studied hard, transferred and are now making enough dough to drive a ferrari. Just relax and do what you gotta do. Don’t overthink things.

Do you really want to show colleges your personality? Do you really want to show them your character? Do you really think that would help you get in?

@tomjones. You are getting great advice from your peers. While you are competitive with your exceptional stats. Its still a crapshoot for everyone. so there is a mantra on CC known as “Love thy safety”. I encourage you to find a safety that you would enjoy attending. In the meantime, these links below will perhaps make it more real, why you need to do so. Its from a long time CC Poster, a must read for people who dont consider safeties. I’m sure in the end you will be accepted by some wonderful schools!

You know, now that I’ve sent in my early action applications, I’m not really too worried anymore. I’m also applying to MIT, and I know it’s a crapshoot. I’ve done everything I could think of doing to portray myself as I am.

All I’ve got left to do is wait, and I’m perfectly content to do so.
