worst stats and admitted to harvard

ive heard of someone with a 2180 SAT get into harvard

gross.

whats the worst stats you've seen get someone into harvard

An athlete I know got a 1320 on the SATs and got in.

what

how is that possible

as the ivies dont even give athletic scholarships

wait...new or old sat's?

espn had some thing a while back...Harvard gave this JUCO football player a full ride to play for them

we all know recruited athletes or people with obvious hooks get in easier... anyone "normal" with subpar stats get in though?

my friend had 2040 sat's & she got into harvard.
but she was the president/leader/founder of everything alive.
major connections with city council & house of reps.

I saw a book in a bookstore that had profiles of about 50 students who got into Harvard, and one of them was a white athlete who had a 2.75 GPA. I think the book's title was "How They Got Into Harvard."

2000 on the SATs is not BAD!

I read in newspaper about a girl who like got 1100 SATs and got in

She was an orphan who was supporting herself, so she was a special case.

Lots of people with 1200 old got into harvard as sports stars. They only got a free ride if they're poor though. That's why everyone elses scores need to be above average to make up for this.

What's so bad about a 2180 sat?

A 2180 SAT Score is NOT BAD. I'd be laughing right now if I actually achieved that score on my last SAT. By the way I am also applying to Harvard in December, and my scores ARE NOT good, so as to make this year's applicant pool less competitive. Just be confident and do your best (along with a kickass hook and a few strategies).

wow you sound a little conceited calling 2180, in your words, "gross." Look at the stats kid, 25% of the people at harvard have below a 2100. Grow up.

redlightarea, people like you make me laugh...2180 gross? get a life...please

i was saying gross as in they got into harvard with that

id be happy with a 2180; as i am not applying to harvard

so dont put words into my mouth

No one put words in your mouth.

And... ummm... you say you're not applying to Harvard. sooooooo... why are you so critical? Your post makes absolutely no sense.

Middle 50% of
First-Year Students Percent Who
Submitted Scores
SAT Reasoning Verbal: 700 - 790 99%
SAT Reasoning Math: 700 - 790 99%

I'm sure a lot of people have gotten into harvard with 2180's

i'm not sure that explanation made it any better. a 2180 is not gross, period.

2180 is like 97th percentile...how is that gross?

You DO know that, at least according to this ACT and SAT program thing I have, that the ACT range for harvard admittants for the 50th percentile is 30-34, and the SAT range for the 25-75th percentile is something like 1400-1580. Other people might have different data than that, but that is just what I saw.
