Worst testing experience ever and btw calling CB doesn't help.

oh my gosh, we had the worst AP Spanish Language experience ever. Test didn’t end until about 1:30pm and it should’ve ended at least by 12:30pm. and for me, the testing didn't end until 2:00pm(you'll see) The recording sound was so muffled, like the low voices were just mumbles to us. I mean if it was a higher pitched voice, I could hear it, if you know what I mean. I feel like if the volume was turned down a little, the sound would be better.

Plus during the speaking portion, I didn’t have much space to put my booklet to take notes so I put the book, over the keyboard but wrote underneath it, except the pressure of my pencil caused the booklet to push the spacebar which made the recording play back itself, meaning I cannot continue recording.

So I had to make 2 recordings. No big deal I thought, they could just copy and paste the second recording into the first one to fit the one mp3 requirement. But they said no, that I couldn’t do that. And while I took the last portion(btw we did the sections out of order but that was necessary due to lack of computers) they deleted my existing recording.

And the last portion(writing), gah it was a mess too. We are in a different room, different proctor. And she told us to begin the first part but the recording that was playing was for the second part! We had to stop and redo it when we rose our hands to alert her of the discrepancy.

Afterwards I had to go back and do the speaking all over. It may seem like I had an extra advantage though, redoing that session and all.. But it wasn’t secure. 2 phones went off. Plus I was just totally stressed... and morally torn. In my opinion, I think collegeboard would rather have me put the 2 recordings into one rather then give me the extra advantage to do it over. But they said according to the AP manual or whatnot, I had to do it over.

And on top of that, my friend called to report testing irregularities. But no, reports of irregularites must come from the testing coordinator. Like that’s gunna happen.

Either way, it's okay, I was planning on retaking Spanish in college anyways. Study abroad and stuff. But honestly for those that have the test mean something to them, they should'nt have gone through this. Although I'm not sure if everyone in our school had the problem or just our "class".

Calc BC tomorrow. Thank goodness its off campus.

That sounds horrible! Hopefully BC went better for you.

Aw, I feel sorry for you…
I had similar (though insignificant) experience in which the proctors (we were tested in a cafeteria in large groups!.. omg) started chatting (though softly)

I couldn’t concentrate.
It was soooo annoying…

Then this weird car stereo noise started coming from outside which was even worse.
The College Board needs to heighten its testing policies so that everyone IN FACT receives equal testing environment.

Dude I feel ya! Same thing happened with me!

I didn’t take AP Chinese Language and Culture yesterday, but I heard yesterday the software used for all 53 test takers in my school failed. That really sucks.

anonymoushorse7: =P told me that in person already!

Techhexium: what did they have to do?? :O
