AP Test Nightmare... Help Needed!

This is without the doubt the biggest test fail that I've ever had.

I took the AP Spanish Language Exam today and as I answered questions in the MC section, I would circle my answers in the accompanying book that they provided and afterwards transcribe my answers to the scantron. At the last five minutes I realized that all my answers were shifted down (so for example, the answer for number 39 should have been the answer for 38). I tried fixing as many as I could but only was able to barely finish the reading section.

I am absolutely crushed right now! I've maintained an A in the class for two semesters and languages in general really are my strong point. As I was bubbling in the questions I felt as if I would get either a 4 or 5. Now I really don't know...

I called Collegeboard today and they said that I had two options for me. My administrator can either file an Incident Report for "Misplaced Answers" or I can file a Rescore when my results come in. Since I don't know when the pattern of the shifted answer started, I'm absolutely confused as to which I should do.

Does anybody have any experience with Incident Report? How does it effect your score ultimately? Do you think think the folks at Rescore would adequately rescore my exam if I explained that my answers were shifted? Is it possible for me to explain to colleges my low AP score?

I'm so overwhelmed right now! Any advice would really help. Thanks so much!

Bump! Please I really need the help!

Didn’t you post this already?

Go talk to your school’s AP proctor about this. Rescores are hand-scored but I doubt they will take shifted answers into consideration. In the future, a more effective method of bubbling without losing focus is to just make a mark on the bubble you want to fill.
