Is Tufts worth the 60k per year? I don't think i'll be getting any aid as my parents' income is >200k. Is it worth it over the state flagship (UT Austin)? I'm planning on majoring in Econ with Premed, so i plan on going to some sort of grad school.

No. Plus, the winters suck.

Oh, my gosh, go to UT! Not even worth a second thought.

If it is all about money go to UT - but value is in the eye of the beholder. My DD is a Tufts grad, and one of her best friends is a UT grad. Both chose the right places for them and would not have been happy with four years at the other. Tufts is in greater Boston, probably the best city in the country to be a college student. Yes, the winter is cold and snowy, but then some people actually like the change in seasons and sledding for a study break. Compared to UT Tufts is a smaller school with smaller classes, less Greek, more diverse, more artsy and very globally focused. There is more of an emphasis on liberal arts with a significant number of distribution requirements. It will be more common to find an econ major taking the premed core than at many other schools. The med school campus is a subway ride away and healthcare is a major industry in Boston, so here are lots of opportunities for research. Decide what it is worth to you (and your parents who are footing the bill).

Trolling on Christmas: what a wonderful, awful, idea.
You seem unhappy, but the reason is not clear.

You know, I had a hunch the Grinch might live up north, in the mountains of Maine.
Never could have guessed she was a Texas Longhorn, though - that would have been insane!

Despite your efforts, there is singing in Tuftsville - and it is easy to hear.
Despite your efforts, students are happy - even without beer!

“Maybe college,” you think, "doesn’t come from a package store,
Maybe college… perhaps… means a little bit more!

Putting a price on education is hard to do,
but growing your heart is priceless, and what some may want to pursue!

Depends. There are a number of TX kids who get into UTAustin, but prefer an experience elsewhere. It’s a whole other experience to go to a school like Tufts out of the great state of TX. Whether it’s worth it or not depends on how affordable it is to your family. If it puts them at great hardship. No. IF it’s something they don’t mind paying, and can afford it, and you want this, yes.

Tufts is not worth $240k if you can go to UT- Austin, and especially if you can get into the Plan II Honors Program.
