Worth it to get a job during the summer?

So I will be going into my freshman year college this year and I wanted to make some money during the summer but I've never worked before in my life. Is it worth it to look for a job now or will it just take too much time(I have about 3 months before college and I'm living on campus so I'll only be working during the summer)? I'm looking at big y or stop and shop. But are there any better options? Thanks in advance!

Definitely. I got a job after first semester of Junior year, every paycheck I leave enough for gas for my car and ~50 bucks for misc. expenses, then I throw the rest in my savings. Operating off of loans in college is challenging, so any little bit of extra money you can get is good. Grocery stores (where I work) are good - fairly easy work, and you get paid about the same as you would most other chain businesses.
