Worth it to take the ACT one more time?

I got a 35 on my past ACT, single sitting composite, not superscored, (34R, 35E, 35M, 36S). I am considering applying to Duke University early decision in the fall. I would currently be a borderline applicant there, as my grades and extra credits are not spectacular. I know that if I study for a bit then I can improve my ACT score to a 36, especially considering that Duke superscores. Is it worth it to do the studying and register for the test to take it again? Is there any difference in the way a 35 is viewed as opposed to a perfect score of a 36 at a highly selective university like Duke? any Insight would be helpful. Thank you so much.

IMO I don’t think it would make much of a difference, since you already have a great score! I think they realize that the difference between a 35 and a 36 is only a few questions, and I don’t think it would be worth the effort. You could use that time writing your college essays instead, or just working on improving some other aspect of your application. Well that’s just my opinion.

Agree with @AnimeMango

You’ve nailed it on the ACT. Now work on nailing it with the rest of your application.

Congrats and best of luck!
