I don't know if this is the right forum to post this thread in but....

Is it worth mentioning something an EC you did for years and then decided not to pursue it through college?

I played a travel sport for four years and was named captain for two yeras. My team broke up in 2011 and I decided not to continue with the sport because I knew I wasn't going to play in college. However, during the four years I played, I was very committed and invested a lot of time into practicing and playing.

That being said, is it acceptable to include this in my application?

Definitely, definitely include this in your application. It shows commitment, as you mentioned. I did track and field throughout my four years in hs, but I don’t plan to continue it in college. I still included it in my app for the same reason, though.

I my case, I joined FBLA for two years but eventually I decided it wasn’t for me (after 2 years), and I left to focus on other clubs and studies. Should I mention it?

Definitely include that in your application!! Even if you won’t be continuing it in college, they’ll like to see that you pursued an EC like that.
