I just wanted to get some opinions from you older, more experienced upperclassmen on whether you think it's worth running from one building to another 3 days a week in order to have a pretty good schedule and to have the afternoon off

To literally run to each class sounds like a bad plan. Sounds like a stressful time which is not what you need, especially when it comes to midterms. Which buildings are you talking about?

from York to Solis, and from Pepper Canyon Hall to Solis

Oh yeah, you might need to run from Pepper to Solis. If you don't mind rushing to your next class then go for it since you'll have the afternoon off.

How about skating or something? That wouldn't feel or look as awkward. But having the afternoon off is worth it I think.

you're going to be the amusement of everyone you pass, especially if it's a regular occurence :) i say go for it!

(but i wouldn't ever do it myself)

i stopped running to my classes after freshman year.

that's because i realized missing the first 2-3 min of class didn't make a huge difference, except for midterms. :) but thats me

I say, if you're going to run, make yourself memorable, like Black Unitard Guy or something.

A bike is always handy to have. The ride from York so Solis isn't that bad but the one from Pepper Canyon Hall goes uphill so make sure you are ready for that.

you wouldn't have to run to class because being a couple of minutes late to lecture wouldn't make much of a difference, with the exception being for midterm days. actually, occasionally missing lecture for certain classes had no effect on my grades

I don't mind being late for classes where the teacher just talks, but for classes such as math I find myself confused on the topic if I don't start writing the notes at the same time the professor jots them on the board.

teachers dont mind if you are late? (i mean less than 5 min)

i thought theyd get ****ed

they know that you sometimes can't help having a bad schedule. they're not obligated to give any sympathy, though.

i dunno, as a TA i never cared if people walked in late -- as long as they came. it was the people who left early that REALLY annoyed me.
