Would Admissions officers accuse me of lying?

<p>I recently submitted my college app. It turns out my counselor assumed I went to China last summer, even though I only wrote that I went to China, and wrote that on her recommendation. I'm really worried that the admission officers would think I'm lying about my application, since I wrote on Common App that last summer I did a summer internship at UW Madison. What should I do?</p>

<p>Did you go to China and do an internship last summer? If so, I wouldn’t worry about it.</p>

<p>Also to add, our school requires us to write a paper on what we did in high school. I wrote that I went to China during summer, but I didn’t write last summer.</p>

<p>It’s not lying if there was a misunderstanding, and what YOU said/wrote was true, or true to the best of your recollection.</p>

<p>To be honest, my son was a little fuzzy remembering some stuff he put in his essay, and we tried to help him, but it is possible that we misremembered a little bit.</p>

<p>You might go see your counselor about this misunderstanding. My assumption is that he/she either will correct their version for the school, or wait to see if the school contacts the GC for questions. Square the record there, and you should be fine.</p>
