im an incoming freshman who just got switched to hitch suites. the problem is that my roommates are all second years. would anyone like to switch housing?

Wow, I hope the poor freshmen who is living with me and my friends next year isn't trying to find a way to switch...It's 5 sophomores and her in plaza triples.

But in all honesty, I know that we are all really sensitive of her situation and are going to try to make her as comfortable as possible. Have you even talked to your sophomore roommates yet? You may want to try to give them the benefit of the doubt first. They may be really amazing people. We're in college now, it's not like it'd kill you to have a couple friends that are older than you.

Wow it seems like every post about switching out seems to be someone from hitch.

well i dont mind having roomates who are sophomores but it would be kinda nice to have a few freshman in the same suite. and the thing is i think these guys probably know each other already so itd be kinda awkward. its kinda like poker, you dont want to sit down at a table with ppl who know each other =)

I lived in hitch last year and I can attest to the fact that it really sucks. The RD was so uncooperative that it took me over 2 months to switch.

Oh man...Our freshie really is going to hate us. The five of us are all friends, plus we have our two guys friends living right across the way.

:)

What is that "trade policy" that I keep hearing about?

hitch isnt that bad but im not going to sound like a broken record

i lived with older people last year, it was harder but i managed.

so i lived with older people AND survived hitch as a freshmen, before it was a designated freshmen dorm. do i get some sort of medal?

is there a shuttle bus for hitchers such as the big blue bus? it seems so far away from civilization

Hitch? No. It's right across from Rieber/Hedrick Court. You're thinking about Hilgard

So I would have to walk all the way to Hilgard for the bus?

It is somewhat isolated, but it is walkable distance within some residential areas. It's not across from Rieber Court; that's Saxon. There is a shuttle that runs from 11-2 (rough hours) taking roundtrips from Hedrick to ~Dodd.

The Big Blue Bus isn't a common option for transportation to campus. but the Wilshire Express is.

What's the shuttle that runs from 11-2 called?

Northwest Shuttle. Weekdays at Hedrick court. It's mostly used for librarians but students can hop on. not convenient at all.

tough luck...i actually got rieber triple then got KICKED out into Sunset (Canyon Point)

The trade policy is that in the next quarter (winter, if you decide you don't like your fall roommates), you can submit a change of assignment form to housing hoping that they'll find someone for you to switch with. I wouldn't count on that if you live in Hitch though; it'll be tough to find someone to switch with you.

I had a Rieber triple last year, and this year I chose Canyon Point. Some people are just so ungrateful...

Seriously, Rieber is social and can be fun sometimes, but you have zero space in your room, the bathrooms can be sooo gross, you can get a totally dead floor, or worse, a totally loud floor.

Random example: Last year a drunk guy in his boxers (and not tipsy, but like zombie-esque) walked into my friends room with like 6 of us in there, went to the corner of the room, pulled out his ***** and peed all over her roommates desk.

shudders

why, my b...

hey fiddledd, are you an OC...cuz you sound just like my OC...

HAHAHAHA...i can sooo see myself doing that...what did she do?
