Would college's be impressed with a brain research study with a university?

Hi,
I'm a sophomore in high school in eastern KY. I'm thinking of helping the University of Kentucky in one of their Brain Research studies. I wouldn't be in the study, but I'd be helping them organize it and do some of the experimental research. I'd do this for a week probably. I wanted to do my own independent study on brain research but don't have the right equipment. Which would college's like more helping with a study at a university of doing one yourself? Thanks for answers!

It sounds like a great opportunity. No college expects a HS sophomore to be doing original research, but helping out as you've proposed would definitely be a stepping stone to more advanced work.

I'm a little concerned about you in general, though. You post fairly often, asking if a college would like this or that. It makes you sound insincere about your proposals; you'll notice that not many people are replying to these repeat threads. Look deeper into yourself and don't judge only on what will be rewarded academically.

I agree with midwesterner.

Figure out what your interests are, and the pursue them with passion, independence, leadership and creativity. That's what impresses colleges.

Your repeatedly asking people here for advice about which ECs will impress top colleges only makes you appear to be the type of person that top colleges would NOT want. The top colleges want students who do things out of real interest, not to impress the top colleges.
