Now, I know that there is no score cutoff and that the admissions process is done holistically, but I think it’s pretty widely agreed upon that most accepted students do pass a certain threshold.

That said, would either of these scores raise eyebrows? If so, which one would raise…more eyebrows? If not, which one would you submit?

Set 1:

SAT I: 790 CR, 640 M, 770 WR (Single-sitting)
SAT II: 800 MIIC, 790 Lit

(Would the high SAT II offset the low SAT I math score?)

Set 2:

SAT I: 790 CR, 700 M, 770 WR (Superscore)
SAT II: 770 Latin, 790 Lit

(I know that some universities like to see SAT subject tests in two very different disciplines)

Yes, I’m overthinking, but I simply don’t want an easily-improvable part of my application to keep me out of a school that I, as of now, love so much, and I’m trying to determine what I should retake (SAT I or SAT II Math II).

Is your question really just whether you should submit your Math II or your Latin SAT II score? Why not simply submit all 3, since they’re all good.

I’m confused too – is there a reason not to submit all those scores? Brown will ignore the 640 math and only consider the 700, and will take your top two SAT II scores.

Your SAT super score definitely passes the “threshold.”

Your scores are fine. How many times have you taken the SAT? If you think you can raise your math score significantly (to at least 750, I’d say), then maybe you could retake it. But that’d be the difference between fine and good; your scores are good enough as they are now (assuming everything else is up to par).
