Would I be able to Transfer?

I have only completed one semester at a highly-ranked school with 13 accrued credits and a 2.85 GPA. Would I have the ability to transfer to another school with good academics for the next fall semester? I withdrew this semester for personal/mental health issues. Do you think admissions officers would understand this?

You should certainly try but you should hve a backup plan like spending the next year at a local community college to raise your GPA and then reapply.

Some schools do not accept students with so few transferable units.

How were your high school grades/test scores? With so few credits, they may still consider your high school record. However, with that GPA, you aren’t a very strong candidate for other top schools. I would stay put and pull your grades up, to be honest.

@thetransfercoach I had a 4.03 or 4.04 unweighted GPA in high school. I also took 10 AP courses and have a 32/33 Super score ACT. I also got a 790 on the US History SAT Subject Test and and a 720 on the Bio-E SAT Subject Test. Would you like any more info? And I’m not necessarily looking at top ten/twenty schools either, none of the schools I’m interested in transferring to are above number 25 in the rankings.
