I completely regret not applying to Stanford last year. Makes me a bit sad. I'm wondering if I would have been accepted if I applied. I know this topic is a bit pointless, but I'm just curious. Thanks in advance!

First of all, Stanford admissions are highly unpredictable. A topper may get rejected, but a more or less average person may get accepted. So, unlike above poster, I, and I am sure no one else, can tell with assurance whether or not you would have got in.</rant>

What I believe is the main reason for such unpredictability is that Stanford values things other than numbers considerably more than perhaps any other college I have heard of. I have heard that they give more than just considerable importance to their essay and your focus and drive towards your ambition.

What I basically mean to say is that no one knows for sure whether you would have got in. However, a quick glance at your stats tells me that you are a promising applicant, but that you don't seem to show much drive. Assuming that you are into science, I for, one would have expected at least another competition.

Please don't take the above analysis personally. Perhaps I am reading the stats wrong, but those were my first impressions from a (very) fleeting glance at them.

Most probably not (which is true for most anyone), and there is no point dwelling on it now.
Go out and enjoy a nice dinner for the money you saved on the application fee!

You wouldn't be an automatic reject, nor an auto accept; you'd make it to the swim round. The statistics are against you, though, with that daunting 10% acceptance rate. However, you do sometimes hear of someone who seems rather average (well, nothing SPECTACULAR) who got in and isn't an athlete/URM/legacy. Could've just been the essays. I think you would've had a good shot, though.

Based on all your scores you would have been in the middle 50% of the applicant pool. Your ec's are good but not spectacular. You might have. Guess now you'll never know.
