to write about a fictional person, such as a movie character, for Essay A?

The exact essay topic is "Write an essay in which you tell us about someone who has made an impact on your life and explain how and why this person is important to you."

What do you think?

I'm afraid not as the person has to be someone who you actually know in real life. Sorry.

It just says "someone" - it could be James Bond!

(You could check with the admissions office to be sure.)

Nicklizzie! Don't let the naysayers stifle you. I love your idea, and I think anyone with a sense of whimsy would, too. It is ridiculous to think these silly essay prompts are cast in stone. I believe they are just trying to get a sense of who you are, not some wise uncle or something.

"Good Grief! You never would have guessed that an unassuming meek lovable loser like Charlie Brown would have an influence on anyone; but indeed he has."

this is the firtst few lines of an essay from an applicant that got into Stanford with the same prompt.
