Would it be harmful to take the SSAT during December?

I need to take the SSAT, of course, for admissions.
I do need to have this done before applications are due right, or do I have SSAT send the information after I test, regardless of when applications are due?
If I need to have been tested before the due date would it be harmful in any way to take the test in December? It's not offered in October where I live, and the November test there are other things previously planned. Would it just be better to give up my plans in November or wait, like I'd pefer, to test December 13, so close to the time when applications are due?

I'd take in it December. I'm taking it in October, and if I do amazing (unlikely) that's that. But if not, I'll start studying again and retake it in November-December. So you're probably fine. It's all the same test, and it gets to the schools before the deadline anyway.

Search the topic and you will find lots of information from last year. Bottom line is December is fine. It's probably best to be able to take the test more that once in case you do not do well the first time. Check with each school but some will take the January test.

december is fine,
i took mine in december after not doing too well on my october and november tests :]
1 time- 86
2- 91
3- 97
:] good luck

Oh ok. Thank you.
The biggest tournaments of the year for debate are the same day as the October and November tests and I think, not only my partner and the team would gang up on me and kill me, but the coach would join in. :) Not something to easily miss. These to are as big in comparison to our national qualifiers and state. :)

Lucky you. You have a debate team.

If money is not an issue, you can arrange to take a private administration of the test. There is more information about this on the ssat website.

December is fine, BUT if you can take it earlier it is better. It will give you a chance to take it again in Dec. if you aren't happy with your score.

They tell you that it's not harmful if you don't inhale, but don't believe it for a second.

Money is unfortunatly an issue, otherwise I would have been all for private administration.

december is absoutely fine. i took the one in JANUARY and i got 95th percentile so it's not like the later it is, the harder it gets. :)

Ha, ya.

I really wish I could take it earlier. Maybe Ijust won't go to the speech compition. Who knows. I'll talk to my coach/team when the time comes.
