Taking SAT in December as a senior

Taking SAT in December as a senior

Hi! I am currently becoming a senior. I know that people say that December is the absolute deadline to take the SAT. Is it true? Is it guaranteed that I won’t miss any deadlines for applying to college (not considering EA and ED)?

December SAT is at the 6th.. Scores are reported after 19 days so scores are reported on the 23rd.

Is it not recommended to do this? Because it shows that you are a procrastinator and stuff..

My plan:

I taken May 3rd SAT during junior year..
I plan to take it this coming October and buy the QAS and study from that. Then also take the December SAT.
Just take consideration, my scores are below average and I need time to study.. so is this a recommended plan for me?

I am more than 50% sure that my SAT scores will improve from May 3rd SAT, especially the math section because looking previously at May 3rd SAT QAS, I can answer some math questions that I couldn’t before.

ANY advice you given will be taken serious consideration. So please and thank you in advance!

I wouldnt. That would be leaving your entire college stuff on one test day. What if you get sick that day? What if you're just out of it? Im a senior too and im taking it in Oct. So then I have Dec as backup

I wouldn't recommend it either. I think you should take it in October and November (one month is pretty good prep time).

I think it's a bad idea because there are a lot of colleges that have their applications due like early November.

I'm taking it in October with my SAT subject in November.

I've only taken 2 SAT subjects and got a 720 in one and like a 520 on the other. Ouch. Are SAT subjects even that important?

No, you're fine but I'd try to do as well as possible to avoid taking the SAT again. Just check with schools for RD deadlines.

nbafan135: i am for sure taking it in Oct. but asking advice on taking it again on Dec.

motus: i won't get Oct QAS in time to study for Nov SAT.

arya202: a lot of applications due in Nov.. :( so what now?? it seems like taking Nov SAT would be too late also.

simpleperson: 3 times is bad? :( it wouldn't harm would it?? RD deadlines? um.. can u explain.

bump.... please keep this post active... i need advice..

you prob won't get oct qas in time for december either, they come really late.

But like you said "probably"... i just hope i can get it... it's worth a try right?

how bout you take the SAT in october, not worry about the QAS, start taking BB practice tests now... and see where you mess up and keep studying from that till november.

why do you need that specific qas? Get an older one. This is what I would do if I were you. You can if you want.

Sign up for Oct
Prep all of sept. Makin time is really hard, but I would probably ease up studying for school just a bit to make room for this sat. Grades just a slight bit lower is not as affecting as amazing sats.
Oct comes take test.
Get scores. Like your score? No SATs after. Not happy? December. And in nov, I would do SAT II's if ou need em. If you dont, then you can take em in nov instead dec.

get an older one? where??

I am a freshman at NYU. I took the SAT in June 2007,October and November. I pooled all my scores together because in one sitting I never passed 1800. But...when I pooled the best scores I got 1820...........................and I got into NYU....Go Figure!!!

u got into nyu with a 1820? ***? what are ur other stats?
