would it be stupid for me transfer?

Hi everyone, I currently attend smith college, and I have been thinking about transferring. As a biochemistry major, I realized that smith has a really small biochemistry department. I was wondering is a larger university better at the hard core sciences than a LAC? Smith has really small class sizes and amazing connections, I don't wanna make a wrong move in transferring out..

i also don't really like the social life here either,, but that isn't a valid reason to transfer for admissions officers,, right?

where you wanna transfer?

not liking the social life can be a valid reason, depending upon what you mean by that, and how you describe it

Would you rather go to a co-ed school?

i wanna transfer to tufts, which has better biochemistry program. I forgot to mention I am also pre-med interested in public health, and I know they have a combined master and BS degree there that i am interested in.

Regarding social life at smith,, I just don't feel like i belong here. The weekends are always about desperate parties to meet weird guys, or watching really artistic films that i don't enjoy watching. I just feel like the school is really clicky. I know every school is what you make of it..you need to get involve in any school to find your own group of friends, but
i am involved. I am the secretary for a japanese club, and I volunteer for several other clubs, but i still don't feel like i fit in.

If you are unhappy, it is never a stupid idea to transfer, no matter the reasons. Come to Tufts -- it's great here!
