<p>I’m kind of in the same boat as you, except I got a 32 composite and 6/12 on the writing part. Mostly because my handwriting is terribly slow and messy due to doing all of my school assignments of the computer. I was told by a few people that a low writing score doesn’t hurt you. Just make sure to explain why it’s not as good as you’d like it to be</p>
<p>@nickxx: is there a part of the application where we can explain? Would trying to explain away a bad score look bad?</p>

<p>No. Don’t send it. I don’t know of any colleges that would accept a 35, especially considering the ACT is out of 36. You obviously could have done better.</p>

<p>Your score is great and a 9 on writing is very good as well. Retaking it would be a waste of money as would taking the SAT, unless the schools you apply to require it.</p>
