<p>Work Experience/Internships:
1- Washington Mutual- worked as teller
2- Grameen Bank- worked in Kosovo under the president of the bank- bank gives loans to really poor women who cant earn a dollar a day without collateral and helps them start their own businesses. point of the bank is to slowly erase or alleviate poverty from 2rd world nations- 98% success rate. I went to villages and met with the women and faciliated in the transactions.</p>
<p>the bank experience with the purposed econ major will help. My friend here at NU is an econ major an he swears the only reason he got in was because he worked at TCF bank for 2 years, and wrote his essay about that helping him with his econ skills.</p>
<p>I wouldn't go as far as to say that you are a lock, but I think you have a really good chance of being admitted. If you have another hook, I'd say your chances of admission would be about 80% - but, as I always say, I am not an adcom nor do I work in their office, so this is pure speculation. If you haven't already written your essay, I might recommend writing about the Kosovo thing - but try and put a different spin on it, not just "working with poor women made me more grateful for what I have in the Great United States of America" and that sort of thing.
