I am planning on buying the AMSCO book and then using the practice tests out of barrons to take. Are the practice tests out of Barrons good?

Any thoughts?

I would like a 4 or 5 on the test.

The practice tests in Barrons are terrible. Here is a link to a real released APUSH exam.

[AP Central - AP U.S. History – Previously Released Materials](<a href=“Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board”>Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board)

I’m assuming you’re an AP/honors student so you probably don’t have much free time to be committed to reading 700+ pages of AMSCO in like 15 days, but then again I could be very wrong. The book is very long and each page has a LOT of information.

I would buy this book:
[Amazon.com: Direct Hits US History in a Flash: for the AP and SAT II (9781936551040): Larry Krieger, Ted Griffith: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Direct-Hits-US-History-Flash/dp/1936551047/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1302666072&sr=8-1)

I bought it and it’s honestly better than AMSCO, it’s a fast read (only 250 pages of information and has really helpful guides.) It’s topic based so you’ll have enough information about every topic for the exam. There’s a lot of information in AMSCO, and the time it takes to read AMSCO you could have read the above book 2-3 times. It’s a very good book.

For review, buy Princeton Review’s book. It has 2 practice tests and multiple choice questions for every section. Every multiple choice question’s answer is explained in depth, and every essay question outlines what information the answer should have. It’s a good review book.

So in short, buy the Direct Hits US History in a Flash book, read that 2-3 times over, then take take the section MC + practice tests in Princeton Review.

[Amazon.com: Cracking the AP U.S. History Exam, 2011 Edition (College Test Preparation) (9780375429910): Princeton Review: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Cracking-U-S-History-College-Preparation/dp/0375429913/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1302666254&sr=1-1)

Then, take released test that someone linked in the above post and you should be able to get a good grade on the exam.

Good luck and work hard.
