I've taken the sat's 2 times and I'm not sure if my score is high enough to get into the University of Rochester. The first time I took the sat I got a 1770 and the second time I got a 1890, and was hoping to get a score in the 1900's. I'm not sure if I should take it again because my gpa is about a 3.8 - 3.9, I take AP and honors classes, and I am Hispanic and African American so maybe this will affect the decision. I want to apply for early decision and the next sat is in October so if I want to apply for early decision I would not have much time to complete the application. Please help if I take the sat again I'm going to need to start studying.

Just taking the test again may not be helpful. You need to be working on it before then. What is your superscore from the two test takes?

my highest score on the math was 620, the reading was a 630 and writing was a 640, so combined i would have a 1890, these were the highest scores that I got on both tests

Yes, for U of R you would need to retest. Go to the SAT forum and look for the threads about the Xiggi method and Silver Turtle.

Definitely retake. What I do try to aim my score right smack in the middle of the score ranges. <a href=“BigFuture College Search”>BigFuture College Search;
