I've taken the SAT twice:
CR: 610
Math: 670
Writing: 660
(1990)
CR: 660
Math: 680
Writing: 660
(2000)

I'm looking at big state schools. My top is PSU, and I'm not worried about getting in there, but I loved UVA and I would also like to apply to UMich and UWisconsin. For the latter, would it be a good idea for me to take the SAT again?
I also loved College of William and Mary - same question.

Are you a junior? It looks like you are pretty consistent so I would question whether or not you can do better taking it a third time. If you can bring up your scores at least 50 points each, then yes, take it again, but otherwise I don’t think it is worth it to do it again. Many schools will superscore, so they will take the best score of your two sittings… which turns out to be your second test, but if you had scored better on something on your first test, they would consider that score.

If you are not a junior, wait until May/June dates of your junior year and take the SAT one more time… with some significant prep.

Also the first time you took it you got a 1940, not a 1990.

You are in pretty good shape for UVA:
[UVa - Total SAT Scores](http://www.web.virginia.edu/iaas/data_catalog/institutional/data_digest/adm_total.htm)

It appears they only need a 1330, and you have a 1340, but retaking is better safe than sorry.

Thanks! I must have put in the wrong scores, collegeboard.com won’t let me see past scores for some reason. I did get a 1990.
