English/Creative Writing and Political Science? I know that Journalism and Political Science go more "hand and hand" with one another, but I really would like to focus on Literature and Writing. Is there any use in majoring in both, or perhaps majoring in English and minoring in Poli Sci?

thats what i want to do! except major in poli sci and minor in english. i want to know too.

There's always a sense in majoring in something that is of interest to you. And I can't help but think that English/Creative Writing would be of benefit in politics, given some of the speeches I've heard lately!

Making sense of what you like to do is mostly looking for opportunities and taking advantage of them. If English and Political Science are your interests/passion then go for it. Much of what folks end up doing for a career are serendipity........study what you love and then keep your eyes open for the path.

what do you plan on doing later? for example, i was thinking of law school....

I am just going to borrow this thread real quick :)

Would it make sense to major in Creative writing AND English and then minor in european history? Or is that just tooooooooo crazy?

It will probably be best to make this decision once you are enrolled at your school. For one... once you get to the school and take certain classes you will find that the major you thought was "PERFECT" might not be the best for you after all. Ideally, you should major(/double major) in whatever YOU want/like .. More than anything...I would recommend getting some advise from upper-classmen to see what they say (coures-load, teacher potential in certain departments, etc).

Nothing is too crazy or really out of the question as long as you like it and are able to handle it.
